Description
- Forms dense mats and grows 20—50 cm tall
- Small, rounded kidney shaped leaves, alternate on thick sheaths stems that produce roots at nodes
- Flowers are white to pale blue and open about three hours after sunrise and wilt by early afternoon
- Fruit is a capsule with 8—14 winged seeds
- Prefers open, sunny sites with nutrient-rich soil and shallow water less than 15 cm deep
